Relaxation Massage

What is relaxation massage?

Relaxation massage, also known as Swedish massage, is primarily aimed at relaxing and calming the body.

The massage therapist uses long, smooth strokes, kneading and other movements focused on superficial layers of muscle using massage oil or lotion.

How does relaxation massage work?

Relaxation massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. This has the ability to relieve muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and help clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

Relaxation massage can also relieve stress and enhance immune function. It is thought to help the body's stress response by lowering levels of hormones such as cortisol.

Why do people get relaxation massage?
